And you must attend an urgent online video meeting. Don’t worry, here you will know how to solve your problem and how to use your android phone as a webcam for your computer.
If you have an android phone then you are a lucky guys and you can use it as a webcam on your computer. In this article I will explain you all the steps required to use your smartphone into a webcam for your PC.
What you need to do
You are going to use your android phone as a webcam for your PC. So first of all you need to download and install DroidCam Wireless Webcam APP from the Play Store. This APP works by making a connection between your android smartphone and your computer either by using a wireless network or via a USB cable.
Make sure that your android smartphone and your computer are both connected to the same network. Once you’ve made sure of that follow the next steps.
Step-1: Download and install DroidCam Wireless Webcam app on your Smartphone
You have to download and install the DroidCam Wireless Webcam app on you Smartphone from the Play Store. Once the app has been installed go for next step.
Step-2: Download and install DroidCam Client app on your Computer
Open web browser in your computer and search DroidCam Window Client. Once it’s loaded there will be a large button named DroidCam Client v6.0, click on it to download and then install it on your computer.
Step-3: Connect the DroidCam Wireless Webcam app with Droid Window Client
Go to your Smartphone and open DroidCam Wireless Webcam app. When you open first time you will see the welcome screen, which you can see a quick start guide about how to use it. Read it and tap next.
Then app will show you a new screen, on which it shows you what WIFI network you are connected to, your smartphone’s IP address, and the port used by the app.

Now go to your computer and open DroidCam Client. In the connect over WIFI (LAN) section, enter the device IP and the DroidCam port that are displayed on your Smartphone. Then make sure to select video.
Step-4: Start the video feed from your Smartphone
Click on the start button from the DroidCam Window Client to begin the video data transmission. If you setup all well, you will see a preview of the video which is sent from your Smartphone’s Camera. Now you have a working webcam and you are using android phone as a webcam for your computer.
Step-5: Use your smartphone as a webcam on Skype, Facebook, and other apps
You can open any app which you needs a webcam and configure it to use your smartphone for that. Go to Skype video settings, you can find a webcam called DroidCam source. All you have to do to use it with Skype is to select it.
Same like, all you have to do to use your new smartphone webcam on facebook is to choose it when you initiate a video call.
